The Champs Volleyball Camp held at D.O. Fulton Gym wrapped up its 3-day run yesterday. Campers ranging from pre-kindergarteners to 8th graders worked to learn the game and improve their volleyball skills all while having fun.

Vernon ISD is holding a public meeting on the district's 2025-26 proposed state and federal budgets on Monday, June 23, in the boardroom at the Vernon ISD Administrative Building. The meeting will begin at 9 a.m., and is open to the public.

Due to the Lions Baseball Camp moving to June 19-21, the same dates as the Lady Lion Softball Camp, the two camps are going to be combined. They will break out into sport-specific drills during the camp. The starting time for both camps will be 10 a.m.

End-of-Course scores for Vernon High School students were released last week and can be accessed the same way.


Due to field conditions at Jabe Brazzle Field, the Lions Baseball Camp has been postponed. The camp will be held Thursday, Friday and Saturday, June 19-21.

Four VHS tennis players -- Jonathan Medina, Nevan Schur, Courtney Saylor & Will Castleberry -- were named to the Texas High School Coaches Association Class 3A Super Elite Team for the 2024-25 school year!! All four collected medals at the UIL Class 3A State Singles & Doubles Tennis Tournament, with Jonathan & Nevan earning silver in Boys Doubles, and Courtney & Will earning bronze in Mixed Doubles.
