Our Vernon All-Star Olympics are two weeks away!! We're currently needing a few items -- 6 frisbees and 6 yoga balls. Donations of water and sports drinks (Powerade/Gatorade) are still being accepted. Thank you to all who have already donated items. If you wish to donate, you can bring items to the Vernon Middle School office.

Our 1st graders had a blast yesterday on their field trip to Copper Breaks State Park. The students played games, learned about some of the animals at the park, got to feel some animal skins, and had the opportunity to get a kiss from a Texas Longhorn!!

Yesterday afternoon, members of the Vernon Police Department presented a donation to the Vernon All-Star Olympics to some of our Vernon Middle School All-Star Olympic athletes. The donation comes from the Battle of the Badges charity basketball game that pitted the Vernon Police Department against the Vernon Fire Department. The departments decided to split the money donated during the game evenly, with the Vernon PD giving their portion to our All-Star Olympics. The Vernon All-Star Olympics will be held Wednesday, April 30, at Leo Brittain Field at Lion Stadium.

Here are a few more pics from last night's Kindergarten Spring Program. Students entertained the crowd by telling them what they had learned in school this year -- in song. The students sang the "Peanut Butter & Jelly Song," the "I know My ABC's Song," the "Short Vowel Song," and the "DJ Count to 100 Song." They closed the show with the "I'm Ready for First Grade Song." It was a great turn out for the program and we appreciate all those who support our students and attended the program.

Our kindergarten students held their Kindergarten Spring Program last night at the Wilbarger Auditorium and entertained the crowd by telling them what they had learned in school this year -- in song. The students sang the "Welcome to Kindergarten Song," the "Days of the Week Song," the "Twelve Months of the Year Song," and the "Seasons Sing." It was a great turn out for the program and we appreciate all those who support our students and attended the program.
